The Traits of the Rack and Pinion Steering Gear

In a rack and pinion steering system, the end of the steering shaft is equipped with a cylindrical gear that meshes with a rack housed within the vehicle's frame. The rack is connected to two tie rods via ball joints, and this setup directly drives the tie rods, enabling the vehicle to turn.
If wear occurs within the rack and pinion steering gear, resulting in gaps, the spring mechanism compensates by pushing the gear against the rack, maintaining proper mesh. This helps keep the steering wheel in the correct position and enhances the sensitivity and responsiveness of the steering.

●Do not mix up the oil inlet connected to the oil pump with the oil outlet connected to the oil reservoir;otherwise the steering gear will be damaged.
