The power steering in the left hand drive steering rack system is a hydraulic device that uses engine power to assist steering. The engine drives the oil pump to generate hydraulic pressure, which acts on the power cylinder piston through the control valve on the steering shaft, thereby pushing the pinion to apply auxiliary force to the rack. When the parts of the rack and pinion steering gear are worn and clearance is generated, the internal spring will push the parts to the pressure plate to keep it in close mesh with the rack, thereby maintaining the appropriate clearance of the steering wheel and improving the sensitivity of the control.
